"If You Teach a Man How to Fish, He Can Eat for a Lifetime"
So often in today’s competitive and profit oriented world, individuals separate themselves apart from one another in an attempt to gain an edge. There is another way. A way built around cooperation, unity, and peace. At Wings of the World, we honor this efficient unifying model, and step forth to build a new world business centered around treating our friends, colleagues, contributors and the people we serve like our family. We are all connected.
We aspire to energize organizations within impoverished countries with a fundamental business model, oriented around collaboration and care, and perhaps through this model, the individuals, specifically the children within these communities can grow up in a fertile nucleus.
What is most impressive is that the original mission statement to provide adequate resources for the parties involved, has now expanded to include the teaching of a trade in which upon graduation from the primary education system, the student has the ability to serve as a viable member of community. This understanding of creating a self sufficient environment is an aspect of this program that we feel very strong about, and we understands that if the mission statement does not serve to teach these children how to support themselves, then the mission does not serve. As the old proverb goes, “If you teach a man how to fish, he can eat for a life time.”
Members of our team are friends and teachers alike, with a passion to see people succeed. Many of us have journeyed where many are too afraid to go, and with our open hearts filled with care, and our business minds governed by a structured creativity, the dream of Wings of the World has become a living and breathing reality that has taken flight.
